Happy Halloween!

Here’s a piece I created as part of an exhibition a few years ago entitled ‘The Illustrated Recipe’ This particular piece was based on a recipe by Marie Antoine Carême who was an early practitioner and exponent of the elaborate style of cooking known as ‘Grande Cuisine’. He was also considered one of the first internationally renowned celebrity chefs. This recipe I have illustrated was created by Carême and is thought to be a cure for sore throats and coughs.. although I would like to test it! It does however seems a perfect dish  for Halloween.
