I am excited to announce I have recently joined forces with the National Lobster Hatchery in South Quay in Padstow, Cornwall.

The National Lobster Hatchery are a pioneering marine conservation, research and education charity that aims to help conserve native lobster populations and ultimately protect the long term future of our vulnerable marine species, our seafood industry and all that rely upon it. This is achieved by their education and research outputs, coupled with a unique and innovative lobster stock enhancement programme. This involves raising baby lobsters at the hatchery until reach a life stage which they are better able to survive in the wild. At this point the NLH release them back into the waters with the help of local fisherman and dive schools, helping to replenish natural stocks. Their innovative hatchery techniques help improve juvenile lobster survival rate by around 1,000 times compared to those born naturally in the wild. The work they do is very proactive as well as helping to conserve vulnerable stocks it’s developing techniques that will help enable them to restock a fishery should it experience collapse.
